Type your work

Remember, with the exception of notes, everything done OUTSIDE of class MUST be typed. You get one "do-over", meaning if you turn it into me written, I'll give it back to be typed ONE time.  There are multiple reasons for this: it's much easier to read 80 typed assignments then 80 written; I want the work done BEFORE class; typing tends to require more thinking than writing does.

Any work I give back to be redone MUST be turned in with the original version to get credit.

  1. I really appreciate having the opportunity to re-do assignments in this class. I have learned a lot about myself and my work when I had the ability to go back and change my ideas to clarify my ideas and strengthen their connections to my thesis. I have found that in going back to my original paper, I hadn't proofread as much as I should have. Going forward, I am more aware of my mistakes that I have fixed while proofreading, re-doing and workshopping.

    1. Maddi, glad the revision process has been helpful. Revision is one of the best writing strategies there is because, if used correctly, it is an excellent and very personal learning tool.

  2. I think that re doing essays and assignments is a good way to learn from our mistakes in the previous essay or assignments. In the revision we tend to learn what to add in or what to take out. I think without the revision process, the essays would be nothing but crap. The workshops are the most helpful to me however because they teach me more and more each time!
