Revision Assignment in class
This is an assignment focused on HOW WELL YOU CAN REVISE. I am less interested in the topic of your essay than I am in how well you can look at an essay and figure out how to make it better.
Over the course of the class period, revise your essay. Try to keep in mind the revision ideas we have discussed throughout the semester:
- Reading from the back
- Reading aloud
- Sentence structure and grammar
- Counter argument development
- Paragraph development
- The Skeleton/Organization
When you finish your revision, answer the following:
- What are your primary grammar issues? How did you fix them? (list at least two)
- What strategy works best for you in locating your own errors?
- What do you feel is your biggest writing weakness? How are you working on correcting it?
- What do you feel is your biggest writing strength?
- How can you tell if a paragraph in your essay is well organized?
- How can you identify if your essay as a whole is well organized?
- What specific strategies did you use today to revise your essay? List these.
