Little Brother RA is due on April 6

Your final draft of the RA is due on April 6th in a folder with the grading rubric (see Handouts to print out a copy).  Make sure it follows the essay format that is in the English 117 book.

Op Ed Folder is due Weds. 3/9

Do NOT forget a copy of the grading rubric I passed out. If you do not have one, please PRINT a copy from the pages to the  right.

Wednesday, Feb 24, in room W204, 2-3 (I'm giving this talk and would love to see my students attending!) critical thinking and reading

Get a signed attendance slip from the presenter and write a one paragraph summary for a possible 10 points extra credit.

Assignment for Monday February 8

Finish the reading in Little Brother by Monday's class and fill out the fiction note taking form I passed out in class. For Real Questions, write one sentence that summarizes the main idea for each section in the assigned reading. If you look at the reading, "tailor your thesis to the situation" is the title of a section. These titles tell you where to begin your reading and where to end it.

I strongly recommend that you look at the homework well before class so that you aren't trying to race to finish it the night before.

For your homework for Monday, take a look at the HO listed to the right on rhetorical strategies.

Take notes on the handout for Morals and The Machine (and fill out the turning reading into writing section). You do NOT need to do a summary
